Theory of Change
Changing the Trajectory of the Internet
Our Theory of Change demonstrates the actions that drive our vision and move our mission forward. We base our work on academic and industry research, provide training, offer certifications to prove competency and commitment to the mission, gather and create tools to make implementation easier — then watch the action and true change!
Our Story
Katrina German was the Cofounder of a social impact technology company that worked with hundreds of change organizations like United Nations Women, Salvation Army, CBC, and more to use video to tell the stories of impact.
One Story
2012
Recognizing the under-representation of women in technology development, Katrina started several initiatives to encourage more women into technology roles. "Technology is shaping the future of all industries. I want women (and all groups) to be involved in shaping that future."
Women in Tech
2013
Demand Better From Social Media on Content
2016
Katrina writes an op-ed about how Facebook is influencing our democracy and the way that people are engaging with each other.
Woman in Communications Award
2018
Katrina starts a digital marketing agency, writes a book about digital marketing, and wins the coveted International Women in Tech® Woman in Communications award.
Dream Team
2020
Katrina builds her team with some of the best in the industry. As the movie "The Social Dilemma" hits Netflix and brings the topic of data privacy into the public realm, the team decides it is time to dive deeper into the impacts of technology and social media on the Canadian public.
Still Growing
2021
The Ethical Digital team grows to 12 talented people across Canada, where we've gotten started on three major initiatives: Social Media and Well-Being, The Allyship, and Indigenous Women in Tech. These projects and our mission are brought to you by our purpose-driven digital marketing clients.
